CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Our sandals are designed to improve with wear and stand the test of time, but a little extra love never hurts.

VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER

The natural tanning process means leather will become softer and change to a richer, darker color with wear and age. Please keep in mind that each pair is made by hand and the leather used can present unique characteristics and therefore vary between pairs.

Our sandals are not waterproof, therefore we do not recommend wearing your sandals in conditions where the shoe will be submerged in water. Vegetable tanned leather tends to discolor and if left to soak and dry it will become less supple and harder.

In case of contact with water, do not rub the leather: use a clear dry cloth and apply a gentle tapping motion to absorb the liquid. If stains occur, dab the whole area with a damp soft cloth and leave to air dry. Apply a clear leather cream using gentle circling motions.

If light cleaning is necessary, we recommend cleaning with a clean, damp cloth. If you begin to notice that the shine that was once there is wearing off and the leather is looking dry, take some time to care for your product. Every few months we recommend applying a little clear leather balm to the leather and rubbing it in with a soft lint free cloth. A little goes a long way, work it into the leather in small circles. This will nourish the leather and restore its luster. There are many leather conditioners available and you can use any commercially-available weather proofing conditioner designed for vegetable-tanned leather. But keep in mind that conditioning leather usually darkens it slightly (this is normal).

SUEDE

If needed, comb with a suede brush in a single direction and then spray with a suede protector or waterproof spray. To be safe, first test the spray in an inconspicuous area. If all is well, go ahead and apply the spray all over your suede shoes and let it dry completely. To avoid spots, use a suede eraser as instructed on its packaging.
