The meaning of authentic

We live in a world of abundance. In order to choose what is really worthy of time and effort we must have some idea of what really deserves our effort. At MYTHOLOGIA we decided that authenticity deserves our effort. Some could say that authenticity is just a state of being and comes naturally. Others would say that it is a commitment to what we hold true to our hearts. Us, being Greeks, combine these two to create our authentic Greek handmade sandals.

Made in Greece

Greece is our country of origin. Eva Karamveris, founder and lead designer, was born and bred in Greece. The country and its tradition in bridging seemingly opposite concepts is a constant source of inspiration. This year, specifically, the inspiration was the island of Andros, in the Cyclades. Mythologia sandals are simple yet sophisticated, their designs timeless yet contemporary. They are manufactured by local craftsmen in Crete with respect to the materials, the environment and the people who make and shop the items. Trying to be an international brand but sticking to Greece for production is quite a challenge but we rise to meet it.

Our claim to authenticity stems from but is not limited to our origins. We appreciate the unique sense of beauty that is synonymous to Greece. Mythologia styles feature uncomplicated designs and colors that accentuate the straightforward shapes. They complement various styles of dress so they may remain a staple of your summer wardrobe for many years.

The respect to the craft

The simple and clean designs are a way for us to achieve the minimal use of tools and machinery for the manufacturing of Mythologia sandals. The sandals are crafted from real vachetta leather which is vegetable dyed and so is recyclable and totally eco friendly. The process of coloring leather with vegetable dyes makes sure that people and nature exist in synergy to create items that are valuable for their makers and meaningful to their buyers.
