The new collection of Mythologia sandals is dedicated to the island of Andros

Each summer a different place, a different experience of Greece serves as a source of inspiration for the new collection of Mythologia sandals. This summer our mind’s wanderings stopped at the island of Andros in the Cyclades.

The island

Andros, the second largest island of the Cyclades, presents great diversity in its scenery and bears the mark of history from ancient times to the contemporary era. It has been dubbed as ‘a walker’s paradise’ for good reason. Andros is not quite a hot spot for international celebrities and it is unlikely that it will be featured in glossy lifestyle publications and Instagram accounts. It has a long and illustrious tradition of seafaring though. Elegant, neoclassical mansions pepper the beautiful Hora, the capital of the island, creating glamour of a different vibe.

Nature 

Unlike its sister islands in the Cyclades, Andros has springs of water and waterfalls on its surface. Thus it is covered by lush greenery that creates splendid images different to the barren grounds that sprinkle the Aegean sea. Among the trees and endemic flowers the remnants of ancient activity are visible and happily co exist with the modern amenities. Andros is an attractive destination for people who love to combine visits to a museum of contemporary art with hiking in exciting footpaths and appreciate serenity.

Our new collection

The beaches, alleys and hills of Andros inspired the new collection of Mythologia sandals. Our summer stories were photographed in one of the most charming retreats on the island, “Melisses Andros” (@melisses.andros). The boutique resort is built using local roughstones and respects the local flora and fauna, creating a connection with the environment, almost disappearing from human sight. The designs of the Andros collection are like the place that inspired them, glamorous yet down to earth, beautiful yet unassuming and a treat for anyone who takes time to appreciate quality. This is our goal every time we create a concept and a collection of handmade sandals. To help you create cool, stylish looks of which you, not the shoes, are the main focus. 

A few looks

Check out a few of the looks. The Astra sandal is the next best thing to walking barefoot. It also comes in black making it an ideal choice for more urban looks.  The Sineti is a beautiful lace up sandal that is as easy to wear as a pair of flip flops but elegant enough to be part of a more structured look.
